Kettal modular patio furniture lets a sofa take the shape of the terrace: straight runs, corners and islands from one family. Rodolfo Dordoni's Molo is the purest example; Bitta, Boma, Mesh, Landscape, Insula, Tilos, Vieques and Alize add modules of their own.

how the modules work
Molo, named after the Italian word for pier, is built on a rectangular module. Each module can be taken apart and rearranged, so a long sofa this summer can become two facing sofas next year. The pieces are deliberately oversized and plain, and the fabric carries the character.
Insula, by Patricia Urquiola, takes the low seating of the Arab majlis as its model: a rational, low modular sofa with a roll backrest on an aluminum base. Tilos, by Antonio Citterio, added curved corner modules in 2026.
rope, fabric or teak
The modules differ in what they are made of. Bitta modules are braided rope on aluminum. Boma pairs steel and aluminum with mass-dyed acrylic fabric. Mesh sets an expanded metal back on a solid wooden base. Landscape and Vieques are aluminum frames with Porotex or Nido d'Ape fabric.
Choose by exposure. Rope and open metal backs shed rain; heavily upholstered modules prefer a covered terrace or covers overnight.
